IT Report Card
The IT Report Card is status report performed on a regular basis giving your
organization an
IT
Report Card on the progress of managing the Total Cost of Ownership
(TCO) / Total Cost of Technology (TCT). This is the foundation for implementing a continuous improvement
program (CIP) with ongoing measurement. The initial
TCO Assessment is a pre-requisite for
IT Report Card service offering.
Features
IT Report Card provides a methodology and process to refresh your
initial TCO Assessment data giving you a current versus historical view of your
progress. This helps measure the success and economic benefits of new technologies,
processes, support initiatives and programs.
- Step 1 - TCO Data Retention
- Data collected from the initial TCO Benchmark Study will be retained in a historical
database for future comparisons and analysis.
-
- Step 2 - TCO Data Refresh
- We assist you in refreshing your cost, service level, and performance
metrics data. This determines what your organization's current costs are on a per
User basis for your distributed computing environment relative to your historical data.
TCO Benchmarking tools are used for this
step including electronic
End User eSurveys,
IT Staff eSurveys, customized
TCO Workshops and
myKPI© Data Collection Tools/Services helping automate the data collection process.
-
- Step 3 - TCO Baseline Comparison
- We update your line-by-line actual TCO and compare it to
your previous baseline data. This determines which way your key
performance measures and indicators are trending over time.
-
- Step 4 - Highlight Opportunities:
- Based on a findings analysis, we highlight
actions you may take to develop an improvement plan with a projected outcome of proposed
best practices implementation. Implementation costs are taken into consideration to
show the economic benefits and return on investment (ROI) providing input for a
professional business case.
-
- Step 5 - TCO Business Case Development:
- Optionally, we can test the economic benefits of other IT planning
initiatives. The cost benefit analysis of additional IT planning initiatives are
tested for positive return on investment. This determines the impact on your
TCO
providing the cost justification required for effective business case development and
senior management approvals. The business case will include project return on
investment (ROI), internal rate of return (IRR), net present value (NPV) and overall cost
benefit analysis (CBA).
